READING
I just finished reading MWF Seeking BFF by Rachel Bertsche. I picked it up because I thought it was a very relevant topic for my life right now – Bertsche documents her yearlong search for a new best friend in her new city of Chicago. I originally thought this would be a light hearted funny read, but Bertsche couples her lady-date tales with lots of relationship theory and research which gives the book more depth. Quite similar in style to The Happiness Project, I found it quite interesting and thought provoking, and hopefully it will help me to be a more open and inviting friend!

WATCHING
Jase and I have taken to watching our way through various TV series’ – especially ones we have heard rave reviews about but never managed to catch ourselves. In the last year we have caught up to Sons of Anarchy (drool), Parks and Recreation, and we are currently nearly finished Friday Night Lights. The first three seasons of FNL were awesome – but I’ve found myself falling alseep while watching a number of episodes in season 4 and 5. We only have a few episodes to go…and I can kind of see why the story ends where it will. Long live Tim Riggins! A

Any suggestions for our next series? I am thinking Mad Men…

EATING
Since moving to London I’ve been suffering from my upset tummy problems again – and I can’t work out if its the water, food, or stress! I’ve been eating paleo as much as possible and feeling much better for it. Every morning its a scrambled eggs (with a combo of ham, mushrooms, smoked salmon, and salsa) and fruit, lunch is a salad or veges or leftovers, and dinners have ranged from roast lamb, kumura & asparagus to bunless burgers to fig, walnut and pear salads. YUM. Cutting the grains is making a huge difference – not feeling so bloated or lethargic. I can’t report on any weight loss as I am currently sans-scales.

DRINKING
My new found paleo milk – coconut milk! I personally don’t notice the difference from rice or almond milk, but Jase isn’t much of a fan. Whatever – we only ever have a splash of milk in our coffee’s anyway!

WORKING ON
Still on the job hunt, which is proving much harder than I thought. I am a victim of the jack of all trades/master of none catch 22 – In New Zealand, it’s so small that we work on LOTS of different things, and can apply ourselves with a BROAD range of skills. The most common question I get here is “What do you specialise in?”. Well…I don’t, I can/have done many different sectors – travel, FMCG, consumer, fashion, beauty, technology… So it’s working out a way to try and pitch myself as an expert of one of those. I am exploring different angles though, and I am more than hopeful that something will slot into place soon.

WISHING
The dodgy property agency that we got screwed over by would GIVE OUR MONEY BACK. But I am trying not to think about that today!

LISTENING TO
Nothing new here – but I can’t stop listening on repeat! Uber jeals of those who went to the F+TM concert a few weeks back! It’s on my MUST DO list!

ANTICIPATING
Finally having our own room….I’m scared to say too much in case it all falls over (again), but we are 99% confirmed on moving into a flat at the beginning of July. That means there are a few more weeks of lounge floor living (thank god for friends), but HOW GOOD is unpacking that suitcase going to be?! Stay tuned…

Thanks Tara for the inspiration! What are you doing currently?
