Peak to Peak

In keeping with our “treat every day like it could be our last” theme, we grabbed the first opportunity we had to get up the Peak to Peak. Last Sunday was an absolutely stunning day, so we headed off to the Village nice and early.

First we caught a gondola up to the Roundhouse at the top of Whistler mountain. This in itself took about 20 minutes, and we cruised over the top of the bike park tracks (Jason was eager to point out which jumps he had done, and tried to find where he had crashed!).

We snapped a few pics at the top, and then caught the world’s longest free-standing gondola, the Peak to Peak, which goes ACROSS from Whistler mountain to Blackcomb mountain and back. The views were just breathtaking, Whistler looked like a tiny little village down in the valley. We wandered around the top of Blackcomb taking in the views.

We then rode a chairlift right to the very top of Whistler, and took photo’s with the Inukshuk up there. Again, amazing views – the mountains just kept on going. We are so glad to have done this on a sunny day – the contrast to what we will see this winter (once the snow comes) will be awesome!

The pics say it all really :) We are living in a magical wonderland.
